Estée Lauder Double Wear Maximum Cover Foundation - Review

I bought Estée Lauder Double Wear Maximum Cover Foundation last Monday, and planned to review it on the Tuesday. However, I changed my mind and decided to wait a week, as I wanted to use it for a while and see how it reacted with my skin, as I thought something that was such heavy coverage might clog up my skin and cause mass breakouts!

I'm really happy with this product, and awarded it my Star Of The Week. I paid £21.50 for it (approximately, can't remember exactly) as I got a discount with my Debenhams Beauty Card. I was a bit concerned when I realised that the packaging wasn't huge for something that cost that much, but the packaging is gorgeous, a deep royal blue, with gold writing. You really only need the the tinest amount of this product too, so after discovering that, I really think product is amazing value for money, as I can see it lasting me ages!

There's not a massive range of shades, but the one I got was Very Light. It matches my skin perfectly, there's no marks or differences in colour at all, so I'd definitely recommend getting matched up by one of the MUAs.

It looks a bit orange on my hand, but it's really not on my face! It's very thick and creamy in consistency, but I always apply it with a brush and buff it into my skin really well to avoid any cakiness or the dreaded mask-look. If you buff it in well enough, you get this amazing, flawless coverage that covers all blemishes/scars/marks without the need for concealer. I even managed to cover my dark circles, and couldn't believe how perfect my skin looked.

Some people have said they've used this as a concealer, but because you can buff it in so it's not as thick coverage over areas that don't need that much cover, I'd just use it all over to avoid having to find another foundation for everywhere else.

The MUA said to put a tiny blob on your hand and then apply with either your fingers or a foundation brush. The heat from you hand is meant to help make it easier to apply. I've put far too much on my hand here, you only need about half that for a full face!!

What do you think of Estée Lauder Double Wear Maximum Cover? (That's a mouthful...)

Love xxx

  3. I bought this today and I just tried it now and it's amazing! I've been using the regular double wear but I wanted to try this out as it got great reviews! I am the same colour as you in it (my skin basically looks the same as yours, for reference I am Ivory in Revlon Colorstay and 1C1 Shell in the regular double wear and lighter than an NW15), and the colour is great. It's light enough for me with enough pink, which is always a surprise as I find most foundations quite peachy or too yellow! xx
