I picked up the Real Techniques Core Collection of make up brushes about a month ago now, as I'd been lusting after them for months and felt like I was the only blogger without them! I was a bit worried that, as with many products that are so hyped up, these wouldn't live up to thee hype and my super high expectations. This collection costs £21.99 for four brushes, a contour brush, buffing brush, foundation brush and a detail brush.
These brushes are incredibly soft and feel lovely on your skin, especially as the ones I had before from Oriflame were quite harsh compared to these and the Real Techniques ones made my make up look so much better, especially my foundation. I use to buffing brush to apply my foundation and it leaves such a natural, flawless finish, and it doesn't take long at all to buff it all in. The actual foundation brush is too small for my liking, as it would take me ages to do my make up with this, so I use it either to apply foundation to hard to reach areas, such as around my nose and eyes, and to blend in thicker concealers such as my Benefit Erase Paste. I use the smaller detail brush to apply my concealer onto blemishes and marks, and I use the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in shade 1. As the brush is so soft it blends the concealer effortlessly into my skin, totally covering any imperfections. I really love the contour brush and use it with my Sleek contour kit in the lightest shade, it really is the perfect shape and size to create an amazing contour under my cheekbones.
All in all I highly recommend this brush kit, my favourites are definitely the buffing brush and the contour brush, but I do use the detailing and foundation brush on a daily basis too and I wouldn't be without them. I'd really like to try the powder brush, blusher brush and the eye brush set next so I'm saving my pennies for those!
Have you tried any Real Techniques brushes? Did they live up to your expectations and do you have any recommendations for me?
